of the physical assault allegations from diddy's x casandra ventura, nonna, by her performing name is cassie, the graphics surveillance footage was recorded inside of a hotel back in 2016, and we want to warn you what you're about to see is very violent. it's very hard to watch which cnn's elizabeth wagmeister joining us now with more from her exclusive reporting elizabeth, what more can you tell us about this video cassie filed a lawsuit back in november 2023. >> now, it was quickly settled the next day. in fact, but she was the first woman to file one of these lawsuits against diddy. this started this domino effect. now there are total of six lawsuits against him. again, this one was settled, but in this complaint cassie detailed an incident that happened in 2016 at a hotel in los angeles where she claims that she was assaulted. now, we have got our hands on some of that surveillance video that appears to corroborate those claims. let's take a look. new
12:04 pm
surveillance footage obtained exclusively by cnn appears to corroborate some of the allegations of abuse against music mogul sean diddy combs. the video captured on multiple cameras, shows combs assaulting his then girlfriend, cassie ventura, in a hallway at a los angeles hotel in march 2016. a lawsuit filed by ventura in november last year and settled the next day reference actions that seem to match those seen in this video. there is no audio according to the complaint comes became extremely intoxicated and punched ms ventura in the face, giving her a black eye, which according to the lawsuit, prompted ventura to try and leave the hotel room. the surveillance video obtained by cnn begins as she enters the hallway. the complaint says, as she eggs is it mr. combs awoke in, began screaming at ms ventura. he followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her. the complaint
12:05 pm
goes on to say he grabbed her and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her in the surveillance video comes can be seen grabbing ventura in throwing her to the ground. as ventura lies on the ground, combs, then kicks her twice and attempts to drag her on the floor back to the hotel room ventura is seen picking up a hotel phone. comb seems to walk back to the hotel room, then returns and appears to shove her in a corner. moments later, he can be seen throwing an object in her direction, according to ventura, has now set a lawsuit. the pair began dating several years after they met in 2005. they parted ways in 2019. combs attorney said the decision to settle was in no way an admission of wrongdoing ventura declined to comment on the video, but her attorney told cnn the gut wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of mr. combs. words
12:06 pm
cannot express the courage and fortitude that ms ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light, the video hasn't been seen publicly before and comes on the heels of a series of civil lawsuits alleging combs involvement in sex trafficking and sexual abuse allegations. combs has repeatedly denied in a december 2023 statement combs responding to the claims in all the lawsuit saying sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. let me be absolutely clear. i did not do any of the awful things being alleged now that instagram post from diddy back in december was referencing some allegations from some of these lawsuits. i do want to point out that there was a settlement deal between didi and cassie, so neither of them are able to receive fond to this video or talk about any of
12:07 pm
the incidents relating to her complaint. but as we heard, we did hear back from cassius team, we have not heard back yet from diddy's team and elizabeth, this is i mean, this is you mentioned it's really just the latest in a string of these damaging controversies and accusations against diddy. his homes were rated in relation to this federal sex trafficking investigation out in new york. he's also been accused of sexual assault in five separate lawsuits filed in recent months. tell us where things stand yes. >> there are a slew of lawsuits against getting out. he has denying all of them and he isn't just standing back. he's really fighting very strongly. in fact, at the end of last week, he filed a motion to dismiss against a separate suit with a jane doe, just a few days before that, he filed a motion to dismiss a portion of an entirely different suit. so he is fighting to clear his name as we heard him say that. but again, this video now we have evidence that we have all
12:08 pm
just watch that goes starkly against his denial of these claims. so it'll be interesting to see if in what we hear from his team well as was why meister thanks so much for that exclusive reporting. >> the world's top golfer is mirroring the end of his second round of the pga championship. >> and he's likely bracing for an avalanche shove questions over iranian with police this morning, scottie scheffler arrested while on his way to the golf club where this tournament is taking place in louisville, kentucky. he reportedly tried to drive around a fatal accident scene here are the club entrance and kept driving when an officer tried to stop him. espn's geoff darlington says the officer latched onto scheffler's car and was dragged several yards before it's stopped. here's more of that video. darlington record recorded as scheffler was led away in handcuffs right now, he's going to jail. okay. okay. he's going to jail you. can do about i know scheffler
12:09 pm
is facing four criminal charges, including felony assault on a police officer. the golfer is calling this incident a big misunderstanding . the pga of america says that they are fully cooperating as local authorities review what took place here. let's go to barstool sports golf reporter dan rapoport. >> dan what did you think when you heard this? >> because i was like, wait, who really like the kirk cousins of golf, that's who this happened to yeah. >> i think there's 156 players in the field and he might be 156 as far as suspects like that, i would expect this to happen too. i woke up this morning and i had texts from my friends and i thought it was a link to something that i shouldn't see. like i just didn't think it was real because scottie scheffler is such a soft-spoken guy. hi, and we just had its first title last week. he's got a squeaky clean image and it just it just didn't seem like something that could actually happen these is playing great. he's one of the masters is one for one of his last five starts like it's not just that this horrible tragedy happened. and then a player, it happened to
12:10 pm
scottie scheffler. so it's been a really chaotic morning here about holla scheffler made it back into the course for in time for his round today, do we know if there was any discussion about whether he should be allowed to play or if he would play no. i believe like once he got out, i think he he came straight here and i look, i don't expect these charges to stick. there's been some statements that came out recently hi to louisville mayor and the governor of kentucky, who's here saying and it was an unfortunate situation that was kinda happened in the fog of the aftermath of that terrible tragedy this morning. i just not ten minutes ago was up to talking to players and they said it was a crazy seen this morning and the lights were flashing because of that accident guys, we're yelling and screaming. they didn't know which way to go. >> and one gaiman will lease and i did the same thing that scottie did. >> so i think this was just a really horrific confluence of events and a super unfortunate misunderstanding so what the vibe like there today, it valhalla, i mean, is is he playing all right.
12:11 pm
>> and i've read that other players are kind of going up and check in on him it's been great thing is five-under par for the round. he's in second place in the tournament, which is just unbelievable. i remember when he first showed up this morning, he stopped on the range and it was almost like nothing had happened. he was joking, laughing, loose, birdied the first hole golf golfers have an unnatural ability to compartmentalize it's important part of this game because you're out there for five hours, you're gonna be in your own head and it's, it's a remarkable golf performance. the shoot 500 under these circumstances while it i'm just saying that thinking about like the psychology of that is crazy to be able to go out and just like shake it off off and stay focused like that is kind of wild yeah. yeah. well, he probably feels i don't know if clear conscience is the right phrase, but if we really wasn't a horrible misunderstanding, then it will be sorted out in due time and he was driven here by the owner of the golf club. the power brokers kind of strong, intact
12:12 pm
she and i don't think he's super worried about long-term charges, but it's more about the probe person died this morning and that's sort of gotten lost in all this, that it really very true. yeah. dan, that's such a good point. we should remember that that may have been what is responsible for causing so much of the foundation of this conversion here i think it was like and doubt that because harris english, here's another toward player was telling me like he showed up this morning 15 minutes after the accident, he had no idea what happened. >> it was five 30 in the morning. these guys are rolling out at a bad most of them eat breakfast at the golf course, right? so they're in their t-shirt and basketball shorts. they're pulling up to the golf course. probably haven't even had coffee yet it's an early we morning situation and lights are going and i bet this interaction between scottie and the police officer probably lasted like ten seconds, just escalated extremely quickly, but it hadn't fever dream yeah, completely dan. >> thank you so much, dan rapoport, always appreciate getting your insight on this and still ahead, we're going to be speaking with an idf

three hostages from a tunnel in gaza. they are identified as shani louk, a meat boost kyla, and it sought gela enter the israeli military says hamas terrorists killed them while while they escape the nova music festival on october 7, when and then took their bodies back to gaza is prime minister benjamin netanyahu has expressed his grief in a statement writing, the heartbreaks for the great loss, we will return all our hostages, the dead, and alive alike, joining us now is lieutenant colonel peter learner. he has a spokesperson for the israeli military. colonel, thanks for being with us. we're so sorry for these families and for everyone in israel well, who is morning them can, can you tell us how the idf has communicated with these families thanks, briana. >> yeah. it's been a very challenging day throughout the course of the last 24 hours, we identified, revealed and brought home the bodies of shani louk, amid put skinner.
12:19 pm
and indeed, it's a gallery into what we did and it was an intelligence based operations to retrieve their bodies the intelligence was a part of an effort that resulted from both intelligence, but also investigations and questioning of hamas terrorists and indeed, when we found them, we brought them out in the early hours of this morning. we took them for the forensic institute to confirm the identities throughout the course of the day, we've been informing the families. and this evening here on israel, we made an announcement also public. it's been a very challenging de, and of course this is, i think it's a very symbolic idea that whether the hamas terrorists, when they abducted or killed and then abducted shiny or meat and dcic into gaza on 7 october. it just goes to show that our war effort is designed to bring home the hostages,
12:20 pm
women, men, and children that is the war goal that is, at the most important thing. and this is what we achieved today. >> can, can you tell us where their bodies were recovered? was this in the jabalya area where the idf has been operating recently? >> but i want to reveal specifics because there are ongoing operations both in northern gaza strip, indeed in the areas of jabalya are some in the center, in the area of the operational corridor where we are conducting precision rates in different locations. and also an eastern rafah. but there are different opportunities, different potential areas that could reveal that location. but the operations on the ground are ongoing, so i don't want to jeopardize any more activities. >> i listening to i enter kernel, i certainly understand that you did mention though that this came from intel. >> this came from it sounds like you've said interrogating members of hamas us are you hopeful then that you will find the location of other hostages from that of course, this is we
12:21 pm
wouldn't be at war with hamas, hadn't attacked us on 7 october and abducting over 240 people. >> they remain hundred. and 29. now and we have to use all of our efforts to bring them home. so we will use and create the conditions either through operational action on the ground or through negotiations in order to bring home the hostages, we need them home every last one of them. >> that is our effort. that is what it is designed before. i think that is our moral obligation to bring them home. i think what is also important is that in our action, we reaffirmed our commitment to the families of the hostages that are being held i'm sending a very clear message also to hamas that we will stand by our own and we will continue our efforts in order to bring them home. that is what we're out to do. >> also we're learning that the first date is being

12:23 pm
shalom in the southeastern parts of the gaza strip, which remains open despite the fact that hamas keep launching rockets and mortars towards that crossing it remains open? and we have two other crossings in the north at areas and errors west in order to continue to increasing the flow of supplies, despite the fact that it is a war zone and we acknowledge the fact that people need to receive this humanitarian aid. so the efforts are ongoing where utilizing all of our capabilities and working with international partners so that the aid can be delivered it first into the gaza strip and then distributed within gaza strip. >> the aid is being inspected in cyprus. is that sufficient or is the idf also inspecting it upon a rock? hi in gaza lorentz being offloaded in the gaza strip on the israeli side, it's on the inside the gaza

strip, not the israeli side. >> it's being offloaded and then stocked, stockpiled there and then it's being read loaded onto the palestinian trucks and then shipped out to for distribution. the check is indeed, as you pointed out, brianna being done in cyprus, israel is not searching the goods there is it in any holdup at checkpoints idf checkpoints inside of gaza, the aid again, we've just begun on its 14 truckloads, so there's nothing really to report at this stage except for the fact that the pilot both operational and factual, has been successful. >> i did have an report earlier today that's actually some shots were fired in that area. >> but the offloading was successful the action on the pier itself was also successful. >> and i believe that we will see an increase on those goods and we will continue to work

love i defense and online i'm on raju on capitol hill. >> this is cnn this weekend. president biden is set to deliver the commencement address at morehouse college in atlanta, which is the alma mater of dr. martin luther king junior. >> it's one of a series of events for biden and vice president kamala harris as they tried to build back his eroding support among black voters, the president often credits african american support for his 2020 victory, but polls have been showing biden is losing young voters of color over the economy and his stand on the war in gaza we have cnn's mj lee at the white house for us, mj, how is the president trying to win back black voters will brianna, we are seeing a series of events over the course of a
12:31 pm
few days where president biden is really focused on outreach to the black community earlier today, we saw the president meeting with the plaintiffs of the historic brown v board of education case. >> this case, of course. so historically significant because it deemed unconstitutional segregationist laws cause and then we saw him head over to the museum of african-american history where he talked about the significance of that case. and of course, this kind of outreach to the black community is so important because the president is clear that this is a community that helped deliver him his victory back in 2020, and he's hoping that they will turn out again come november. and when we heard the president talking at the museum about the significance of this case, he said that as important as that case was and given its significance, its significance in the history of this country, he made clear that he believes that civil rights still remain under assault as he invoked his

12:33 pm
whether it is because as of just a general lack of enthusiasm or concerns about the president's policies when it comes to israel and the ongoing israel-hamas war. of course, this is something that the biden campaign is very much hoping to turn around before november all right. >> mj lee life worse from the white house. thank you. jessica, as president biden, heads sound tonight, his republican rival donald trump will be in the midwest attending a fundraiser in minnesota. >> let's dive into the state of the race with veteran pollster and communications strategist, frank lunch. always good to see you. we always learn things when we hear from you. let's dive into this new york times deanna college poll that found trump had more than 20% support among black voters and battleground states. now, it is just may. so he asked to sustain this, but if he can, that would be the highest level of black support for any republican presidential candidates since the enactment of the civil rights act of 19 64. >> why do you think trump is right now doing historically
12:34 pm
well with black voters and his biden in real and reversible trouble here are mounting is on reversible because you cannot predict anything in this election campaign. >> i'm asked what will be the october surprise? is that every week is going to being as an october surprise. but specifically with black voters it's not all black voters. it's younger black voters. and particularly younger black man. i discovered this when i got off the plane at jfk. when two baggage handlers came over to me to tell me that i don't get it that they're going to vote for donald trump because they think they are being victimized the same with a, he is in some of these votes that have left joe biden over the last four years. it's because of biden's weakness in this case. young black men see in donald trump the same kind of oppression, the same kind of persecution. >> the idea that trump is a victim and they feel victimized by the system.
12:35 pm
>> and so they're endorsing trump because of the fight that he's having. and i actually think it's possible that among black voters, male black voters under age 40 that even a third of them could end up with trump in the fall, make no mistake black women hate donald trump, but black men are giving him a look, giving him a listen. and the younger you are, the more likely want to vote for him. >> so interesting, and we now have this debate that's set for june 27th here on cnn. and as you just said, it's an october surprise every week this race is historic for a lot of reasons. this debate is different and historic for a lot of reasons. what's your take away knowing now what the setup will be and that they both agreed to but well, we don't under setup in the rules are going to be critical. >> if i'm dung trump, i want to stand because i'm at my best when i'm performing. >> if i'm joe biden, i absolutely want to sit because he's at his best when he's seated and when he's working
12:36 pm
if i'm donald trump, i want as short responses possible because i'm not as well informed on the specifics. if i'm joe biden, i want as long the responses possible because it takes me longer to get to the point that how these rules are determined will have a big impact. for example, are they going to shut the microphone's off? if trump tries to speak over joe biden, that was critical in the last debate in 2020, and will be critical in 2024. i believe the rules are so essential this time and what each candidate wants is dramatically different trump and biden have very few similarities in terms of their debating. and they should be recognizing this and frankly, i know that they've agreed to a debate but i don't know how they're going to agree to some of these roles because look, if they rules are for pro biden trump may not want to do it and vice versa.
12:37 pm
>> right? and we do know too that there won't be an audience which also kind of shakes things up a little bit. >> well, that's something that joe biden absolutely wanted because trump people are more likely the elder, more likely to participate and that's going to be critical because you've never had a debate without an audience and a long, long time and the other point i would make is, what are the issues that are going to be discussed if it's going to be social issues because you don't have two hours or 90 minutes on one issue du going to bring them all up. how much time will be spent on abortion? that's critical for the biden campaign. how much time it will be spent on inflation affordability and immigration. that's critical for the trump campaign. so i can't wait to hear the rules because that tells me exactly what the outcome's going to be and robert f. >> kennedy jr. or the third party candidate here one of the third-party candidates appears to have been boxed out of these debates. it is interesting that both the biden and trump camps
12:38 pm

12:45 pm
more on this mat. tell us what the other takeaways are from this report? >> what briana credit card debt is a problem really across all age groups, americans were sitting on 1.1 trillion of credit card debt as of the end of march, believe or not? that's actually down slightly from the end of last year. what's concerning is that more and more people are actually failing to even make the minimum payments. new york fed found that the rate of severe delinquencies, people who are at least 90 days late that has climbed to a 12 year high and listen, this is a reflection of the fact that people are struggling with the high cost of living right now. i mean, food groceries, de care. it is tough out there and some people, unfortunately, turning to credit card debt. i spoke to a 28 year-old woman from jackson, mississippi who said that she fell into credit card debt in college and she just hasn't been able to get out. she said she's got seven maxed out credit cards, $30,000 in
12:46 pm
credit card debt, and she's not alone this report found the 15% of gen z credit card users are maxed out. that is triple the pace from baby boomers. now, new york fed researchers, they explained that part of the reason why younger americans are more likely to be maxed out is because they just don't have the credit histories builds up. so they have lower credit limits still though one and seven is a startling figure and i think it's just another reminder that sometimes behind all of those positive national economic indicators, there is some trouble lurking below the surface. i mean, yes, unemployment is low. the stock markets never been higher, but millions of people are hurting from high interest rates hi cost of living and experts say that for people who are struggling with high credit card debt, there are steps that you can take. one thing you can do is you could try to transfer that high interest credit card debt to a zero present balanced transfer card. well, that'll buy you time sometimes up to 21
12:47 pm
months to try to pay down that debt. you could also try to getty personal loan at a lower interest rate in a perfect world, you'd either boost your income or cut expenses or do both. of course that's easier said than done. briana, perhaps the best advice out there is to just avoid falling into credit card debt in the first place because it's really hard to get out of especially when rates are this high. >> oh my gosh. i mean, if you have like a 29% apr or something, it's like you're just trying to get water out of a boat that keeps filling up. matt egan. thank you so much. obviously, that's pretty alarming. so ahead, we're going to introduce you to a surfer and scientists who is combining those jobs and hobbes to fight climate change with jake tapper. next, cnn it's you hope we don't, every family moves at their own pace it's not the snow that's why we have ux we can store it,
