replace kelly. one may be mark meadows. a close ally of the president on capitol hill. cnn is told that the president is saaimed to make the decisiony the end of the year. >> thank you. according to special counsel robert mueller, paul manafort lied about five major issues after agrees to cooperate. including the interactions with the man named konstantin kilimnik. mueller says kilimnik has ties to the russian internet which hacked during the 2016 campaign. we have fred pleitgen with more this morning. fred, what do we know about konstantin kilimnik? >> reporter: not much. he is someone who doesn't like to be in the spotlight. the documents show this man, but he was very important to paul manafort. he worked for manafort for a long time in eastern europe. specifically in ukraine where they did business with the pro

russian government of ukraine and also with the russian oligarch. as you mentioned, the mueller investigation says kilimnik has ties to russian intelligence and manafort was caught lying about whether or not he had met kilimnik afterwards. namely when he was chairman of the trump campaign in 2016. i want to read you a bit of the mueller investigation says. quote, the evidence of the above includes electronic communications and the rest is redacted. draft and travel records after told of such evidence. manafort conceded he and kilimnik discussed or may have discussed -- another redacted part -- at each meeting. they confronted him with the evidence and only afterwards manafort said he had contact with kilimnik. that is important for manafort because the robert mueller investigation said manafort tried to tamper with witnesses

searched his phone and other records. the new york times reports that jared kushner offered crown prince mohammed bin salman advice on how to quote weather the storm after the murder of jamal khashoggi. white house requires that national security council staff be on phone calls with out foreign leaders. there are reports that kushner and mohammed bin salman continued to speak. jared has followed protocols and guidelines with mbs and all of the foreign officials with whom he interacts. i can't breathe. those are the final words of jamal khashoggi. the audio recording of the death seen by a scecnn source also includes the dismembered body.

we have nick r robertson with m. nic, these details get more disturbi disturbing. >> reporter: he talk into the consulate and istanbul and recognizes somebody and asked what they are doing there. the officials have called him a close aide to crown prince mohammed bin salman. he replies to him, you're going home. your coming home. khashoggi says you couldnan't d that. i have people waiting outside. immediately without further discussion, there are sounds of a number of people jumping on khashoggi restraining him. he can be clearly heard multiple times saying i can't breathe. i can't breathe. then you hear screams and you hear him gasping.

then details noises as it identifies as a saw and cutting. somebody identified on the transcript as the forensic doctor from saudi ministry of interior identified as telling people in the room if you don't like what you are hearing, do what i'm doing. put your earplugs in or listen to music. the former diplomat in the room is understood from the transcript to make several calls. officials have leaked that to the royal court. on the phone calls here saying it is done. saudi officials reached out to say they have listened to the the tape. looked at the transcripts and don't see evidence of phone calls. they didn't dispute the wording, but no evidence of phone calls. a saudi source says both men

>> reporter: alison, he is an important figure to paul manafort. he worked for paul manafort for a long time while manafort was working in eastern europe and in ukraine. they also worked for a russian oligarch who is close to vladimir putin. as you mentioned, the mueller investigation claims that kilimnik has ties to the organization and manafort stating he did not meet kilimnik, but the mueller team confronted manafort with the lies. this is a heavily redacted document which reports the evidence includes electronic communications and drafted and travel documents. manafort conceded he and kilimnik discussed or may have discussed -- another redacted part -- at each meeting.

people jumping on him and attacking him. this is, of course, contrary to what the saudis have said which is his death was accidental. what you can hear clearly on this tape is anything but that. immediately jumped upon and khashoggi can be heard multiple times saying i can't breathe, i can't breathe. then there's a sound of him screaming and gasping and other noises identified as saw and cutting. we know another person identified in the room by turkish officials is the forensic doctor from the saudi intelligence office who tells people if they do not like what they are hearing, put their earphones in or listen to music like him. the transcript indicates that metreb is heard telling them it's done. the job is done.

the saudi authorities say they a have reviewed the transcript and see no evidence of a phone call made. the saudi source close to the saudi investigation says that both the two men identified, forensic doctor, say they did not make a phone call. li lindsey graham, the republican senator, said there is evidence linking them to the murder of jamal khashoggi. thank you, nic. >> worried about the u.s. and china trade war resulting in another round of heavy selling on wall street. dow fell 559 points on friday. nasdaq closed down 3%. the s&p 500 fell 2%. for the week, the dow plunged over 1,100 points. that was a short week.

the dax is down below 1% as trading opening there. the fotse is down 1% as well. and heavy selling on friday bringing additional worries for wall street. the dow fell 559 points on friday. the nasdaq closed down 3%. the s&p 500 fell as well. for the week, the dow plunged over 1,100 points. it was the index's worst week since march of this year and major indices have had their worst year. and opec is cutting 1.2 million barrels a day.

members of opec pledging to reduce production for six months. this is going to begin in january. russia and other producers outside the cartel promising to cut production. the u.s. is pumping at record levels and surpass russia and saudi arabia as the world's biggest oil producer for the first time since 1973. carlos ghosn and nissan were indicted on monday. according to japanese public broadcaster nhk, ghosn was indicted for under reporting his income. nissan said making false closures harms the integrity of the public disclosures in the security markets. ghosn was arrested last month in tokyo. he has been removed as chairman
