treats. she spoke about joe biden as he contemplates a run for the white house as the first debate is over. >> i'm going to continue to run my campaign and make my case for my candidacy. everyone else, whether they are in or not in, will have to make the best judgment for them. i will repeat what i said many teams. i have the greatest respect and affection for the vice president. he and i are friends. we were former colleagues in the senate. i think he needs to decide what's best for him and his family. >> reporter: hillary clinton's next stops will be today in san antonio, texas. she will go to new hampshire on friday and alabama on saturday as she tries to gin up enthusiasm after las vegas. christine and alison. >> thank you. bernie sanders riding his

momentum from the debate this morning. you know, his campaign now a shift in focus trying to pivot from a focus on building excitement with huge rallies. now the campaign is adding smaller events aimed at persuading voters he can win. he can make it all the way to the white house. cnn's sunlen serfaty is with the sanders campaign. she is at the white house with more. >> reporter: for the moment, bernie sanders is really trying to capitalize through momentum and money. he is building off that $2 million that his campaign is out touting they raised since the debate performance. here in los angeles, held a pair of fund-raisers with $150,000 additional for the campaign. and speaking out where he specifically went out of the way

to reference the money erashe rd and the moment he spoke about hillary clinton's e-mails. >> i am tired of hillary's e-mails. let's talk about real issues. >> reporter: today, bernie sanders will make an attempt to show his softer side. we got a look at his interview with ellen. he does dance. he says his favorite song is "staying alive." he thinks he has the best hair of all candidates. this is an area showing a bit of color and softer image while on the campaign trail. the campaign will have a small shift in strategy. we will see bernie sanders in addition to all of the big booming rallies that have defined the campaign, will see him in a small, intimate settings. that shift starts with this weekend and a swing through iowa. christine and alison. thank you. donald trump stirring controversy on malaysia airline flight 17 and whether russia is

to blame for the jetliner being shot down over ukraine. dutch investigators say with confidence that pro russian separatists downed an airliner used a russian made rocket to down the plane. trump said that is not enough. it is time to move on. >> you said there is no way to know if russia is behind shooting down mh-17. that is is not what the intelligence shows. >> that is a horrible thing that happened. putin and russia said they didn't do it. putin probably knows who did it. >> i think some people might be worried you are defending russia. >> i am not. they deny it. it is despicable and horrible. they don't say where it came from. nobody knows. i'm sure reports will be done.

maybe some day we will find out. right now, russia is denying it. trump's daughter ivanka is taking on a controversy. she is talking about his comments of him and their looks. she says that has been orchestrated largely by the media. >> my father is very blunt and he is non gender specific of people and his criticism of people he doesn't like or people he does like or think are wrong on a particular issue. i don't think he is gender targeted at all. i would not be the person i am today. i wouldn't be a high level executive within his organization if he felt that way. he's always supported and encouraged women. he has proven that over decades

through his employment practices and hiring practices. >> jeb bush is about to become the first presidential candidate to release the names of fund-raisers who are bundling contributions to his campaign. the former florida governor is bundling those as $17,600 contributions. that is a lower threshold than hillary clinton. she is defining those bundlers of $100,000. his threshold is impossible to identify the biggest funders. and a three day visit to iowa today. she will visit a chili cookoff. she raised $6.8 million in the third quarter. and marco rubio is hoping to profit off the departure of scott walker from the race. senator meeting with walker's

top fund-raisers on wednesday. rubio was only able to raise $6 million. ben carson taking a break. he will promote his book "a more perfect union." there are also several fund raising events on his schedule. the next time he will appear as a candidate again on october 28th. the date of the next gop debate. it looks like president obama is rethinking his plan for pulling all of the u.s. forces in afghanistan out of there by the end of next year. there are 10,000 u.s. troops in afghanistan. the president's plan to whittle that down to 1,000 by the time he leaves office. now the administration is expected to keep 5500 troops there. just last month, the taliban

overran the city of kunduz. more key cities could fall. terrorists are targeting the city of ghazni. here is a case of bringing your aleve with you. the long lines caused by a glitch in the homeland security program. the program that cross matches passenger names with terror watch lists was down 90 minutes. this is not considered malicious, but it created back ups at airports in new york, atlanta and boston. >> there were delays this week for southwest. a tough week to fly. time for an early start for your money. shanghai up 2%. european stocks and u.s. futures up. the dow yesterday plunged 157

hospitalized. what drugs police say were in his system as we hear from the brothel where he collapsed.

lamar odom is fighting for his life this morning in a las vegas hospital. the former nba and reality tv star was found unconscious in a brothel in las vegas. the owner said he was staying there for several days. >> everything was fine until tuesday morning. they last saw him at 6:00 in the morning. he had been sleeping. my staff took food in to him and noon. the girls came back at 3:15. he was unconscious foaming from the mouth. >> workers at the love ranch say odom was using cocaine and using drugs to enhance sexual performance. >> the reporting parties informed the sheriff's office dispatch the male had been using

cocaine. they confirmed his usage on saturday, but unsure if it had continued to the weekend. they also informed dispatch that he used up to ten tabs of sexual performance supplements over the last three days. >> his estranged wife khloe kardashian is at his bedside and she is making medical decisions for him. >> lamar odom is one of the greatest people i've ever known. that's the way i see him when i view him through the prism of the choices he made through the heart and soul of the person he really is. i'm hoping that he can pull

the white house stepping in to try to stop a wave of deadly violence with the palestinians and israelis. the secretary of state john kerry will plan to visit separately with the israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu and the palestinian president abbas. this is all over the rising violence. i want to go live to jerusalem and bring in erin mclaughlin who has been following this. tell us about the heightened security, erin. >> reporter: christine, there is no new violence as of today, but there's plenty of apprehension and plenty of fear. there was an incident on board a train in haifa.

israeli police are saying a group of soldiers on board the train. they noticed someone they thought was suspicious. they screamed out the word terrorist and a police officer opened fire. when the train rolled up to the train station, everyone got off and they searched the train. they were saying it is a false alarm. the police officer who fired the gun is under investigation. no one injured in that incident. it goes to show you how people here are on edge. yesterday, there were two separate stabbing incidents. one near the damascus gate of the old city and one near the central bus station in jerusalem. in both cases, attackers were shot and killed by israeli security forces. three civilians wounded in those attacks. those attacks happened in the face of really heightened security presence.

more police out on the streets. more security guards guarding the public transportation systems. yet, this violence persists. it is unclear what secretary of state john kerry is expected to visit the region soon as well as palestinian officials can do to stop these so-called lone wolf attackers who are operating without warning and very difficult to predict. >> indeed. a tense situation. thank you for that, erin. iran's stepping up involvement in syria. hundreds of troops poised to join hezbollah fighters in a broad offensive to take back territory from syrian rebels. some 1,500 iranian guard troops are said to number syria now. they started arriving after syrian air strikes. new concern of ebola this morning. ten months after a scottish

disappointing start to the earnings season and walmart got slammed. the stock plunged 10%. a three-year low on this news. a rotten day for walmart shareholders. walmart telling shareholders profit could fall between 6% and 12% next year. the pressure from raising wages is lasting longer. they will go up to $10 an hour in february. investors will pay for it. workers in st. louis will have to wait longer to get their pay raise. a st. louis judge striking down an ordinance that would raise the city's minimum wage to $11 by 2018. it would rise $1 each year in stages. this is the first legal hurdle for the municipalities raising the minimum wage. we will see what happens next.

prime minister netanyahu and palestinian leader abbas. meantime, thousands of israeli soldiers and border police are fanning out against attacks against citizens. checkpoints are set up. let's go live to erin mclaughlin in jerusalem. erin, can you give us a sense of how people are going about their daily lives knowing these attacks are targeting israeli citizens? >> reporter: alison, people here are on edge. there's a general sense of apprehension and illustration of that is a false alarm that happened this morning on board a train to haifa. according to israeli police, someone thought they saw something suspicious and screamed terrorist on the train.

israeli police on the train opened fire. the train eventually stopped. they found nothing. i was watching a social media video. you could hear people's voices. people were panicking. that is the general sense you are getting here following a bloody day yesterday. two separate stabbing attacks. one outside the gate of the old city in damascus and one outside the bus depot. three israeli civilians were wounded in the attacks. people here are scared. it is not just israeli that are scared. palestinians are scared too. they are concerned about what could happen if they reach for their cell phone and that's misinterpreted by an israeli police officer. they are worried about what could happen next. that's the general feel of what people are dealing with.

the problem is authorities have not come up with the answer to stop the lone wolf attacks that keep happening. >> the problem is you can't have any sort of investigation ahead of time to track anybody if they are not in groups who could be looking to do something. what steps are authorities taking to try to get ahead of this? >> reporter: what we have seen so far is a number of security measures. greatly increased the number of police out on the streets here in jerusalem as well in cities across israel. very unusual steps they have taken which is introducing sold. we have seen them increase the number of security guards at the public transportation networks. you know, as i said, so far, ineffective. unable to stop the so-called
