i'm ollie foster. here's what's coming up for you on sports day. it's party time for bayer leverkusen as they clinch their first bundesliga title. the title race has taken a twist in the premier league, arsenal and liverpool losing ground on manchester city. and tsitsipas masters the clay in monte carlo for a third time. hello there. bayer leverkusen are bundesliga champions for the first time in their 120 year history. the 5—0 win over werder bremen to clinch the title was all the sweeter because it came in front of their own fans. they've done it with five games to spare as well in what has been an incredible season,

here arsenal is very difficult and we needed play being focused 100% and being very demanding in everything. while liverpool also squandered the opportunity to move to the top of the premier league table, they were stunned at anfield, beaten one nil by crystal palace as their first league defeat at home in over 18 months. also back to back defeats at anfield after their midweek europa league first leg loss to atalanta. there was a similar story really against palace. liverpool's finishing really let them down, but actually eze scoring the palace winner inside the first 15 minutes that lifts them up to 14th. they should be safe. eight points off the relegation zone. now for liverpool, this has rarely dented their title hopes. it's just crazy how big the chances were and we didn't use them. so second half crystal palace was lucky that we didn't punish them. but first half they deserved the one elite. and that's sometimes enough. and that's why we stand out here and have nil points. and they have three. one other results in the premier

played at a later date, say serie a. some of scotland's top women footballers are calling for greater awareness to prevent injuries in sport at all levels. there's been a dramatic increase in the number of serious knee injuries, and one of scotland's most capped players, leanne crighton, says greater resources are needed as the popularity of the women's game soars. lisa sommer reports. if you want to be top of your game, you have to put in the hours football training at birmingham, thistle and edinburgh on a miserable scottish night. sports that involve a lot of pivoting and direction change have seen a rapid rise in serious knee injuries like anterior cruciate ligament tears. but up to 50% can be prevented with a simple warm up. really important to get your knee over your toe. juliet gould is an nhs physiotherapist specialising in knee injuries. when she's not treating patients who've damaged their acl, she's promoting prevention. most acl injuries

are non—contact, so it happens without someone else crashing into you. and usually it's when the foot is planted and you twist around the opposite direction. sometimes with studs getting stuck in grass and a twisting type action that the knee drifts in towards the other leg. and that's what puts the acl at risk. repetition of drills strengthens muscles and ligaments. if these kids injure their acls now, then they're likely to get arthritic changes even in 1015 years�* time when they're still young and in their twenties or thirties and then can have consequences for the rest of their life in terms of symptoms in their knee. whether they have it reconstructed or not. gigi bradford ruptured her acl in the first week of the season last year. ijust went up to kick the ball kind of off balance, and when ijumped, my knee just collapsed. i mean, i've done that movement hundreds of times before. knee is never gone and my knee just went fell at all pop. and ijust lay there like, yeah, that's nice. scotland and hearts

under 17 player she'll be out of action for 12 months. it was excruciating pain, like, honestly agony. but ijust kind of went into shock because obviously that was something that i like was my worst nightmare. and then it actually became real. winning on the pitch this week in a european qualifier. but the scottish national team has not been without injury woes away from it. women are three to six times more likely to suffer an acl injury than men and players want more research and attention to prevention. you need to focus on the, you know, prevent those types of injuries, first and foremost, because the amount of hours and minutes that players lose in their career to serious injuries isjust, for me, unacceptable. this is what's going to stop you rupturing your acl. the environment, hormones, body shape are all part of research into why women are more susceptible to injury. but drilling into players, the need for a good warm up is something that can make a difference.

finally for you, some tennis news. stefanos tsitsipas has won his third monte carlo masters title. he beat kasparov in straight sets. he raced through the opening set. the greek, winning it by six games to one half was much tighter until tsitsipas broke in the 10th game, sealing victory in monaco. it's quite an unexpected line up for the final there. the two men knocking outjannik sinner and novak djokovic in the semis. both are set to play at the barcelona open the next clay court stop and the build up to next month's french open. winning this tournament three times is something i would have never imagined. even when i first got it the first time, i obviously thought it was a great feeling and that place is special towards me. but getting the holy trinity, as i call it, is something that i will fully cherish it and take the most out of this moment. that's just about it.

and intense showers, spray, standing water. so tricky conditions on the roads, particularly as in the strength of the wind. look at the tightly packed isobars. there will be strong to gale force winds buffeting the uk during much of monday into tuesday and it's coming down from the north—west. in fact, as we head towards tuesday, it starts to come down from the north. so it will feel much colder than it has temperatures below average. so we've got some heavy, showery rain pushing its way south. was on the weather front to lots of heavy showers following behind in cold risk of snow over the mountains. it takes longest to get to southern and eastern areas, but temperatures hold up above freezing because of the strength of the wind, which takes us through the day today. this line of really intense rains giving some tricky travel conditions, the winds picking up to strong gale force around the coasts in the west and the south and lots of showers with hail, with thunder, with snow over the hills and mountains across northern ireland, scotland, possibly the pennines. look at the temperatures, just nine to 12 degrees celsius

and it will feel colder still when you add on that wind that will be buffeting the uk. so squally winds near those showers which continue well into the night and into tuesday. by that stage our low pressure is moving out into the north sea. so the winds come down from the north again, enough of it, we think, to prevent a frost in many areas, just like we'll see in the morning, the glens of scotland, really. but that cold northerly wind will continue to feed showers into particularly central and eastern areas, fewer further west. but there will be because of the north westerly, some coming into the west of scotland and into northern ireland, but perhaps fewer showers in the west generally compared with monday. but a bracing wind in the north sea coast, a0 or 50 mile an hour gusts of wind still holding on for the likes of east anglia. so again, it will feel cold despite 12 to 1a inland. i suppose outside the wind, outside the showers with more sunshine around it will feel a little more like mid april. but we have to get to the end of the week to see high pressure building in

because still on wednesday we've got low pressure in charge towards the east. these weather fronts rounding western areas, just giving patchy rain or drizzle. so things start to settle down later. in fact, temperatures pick up as we head towards friday as well.
